"Many thanks for making "Fuji The Ultimate" available. I'm very partial to fukamushi sencha and this was outstanding. What was particularly delightful was that a distinctly flowery aftertaste developed quite some time after the last swallow; this was true of all three infusions. Just wonderful!"
Karen, NY
"I received the Tezumi sencha tea that I ordered
and am very pleased with the taste and quality of it.
I also received the product very quickly and I
appreciate the good service.
Thank you very much."
Bret Isaacson, CA
"I have tried so many different brands of green tea and I must say that your Gyokuro is the best! It is so light and refreshing and not bitter at all. Furthermore it provides many health benefits as it is particularly rich in antioxidants. I highly recommend this green tea. "
Jade, Australia

Green Tea from Shizuoka |
| Sencha |
| Sencha is most commonly drunk in Japan. The grades are numerous. After the leaves are plucked, they are steamed, shaped and dried. Steaming process is very important to prevent oxidation of polyphenols. |

| Bancha |
Bancha(coarse green tea) is harvested between late September and early October. The fourth plucked tea is almost the same thing. When we say "bancha" in Shizuoka, it generally means "autumn-winter bancha." "Autumn- winter bancha" is normally regarded as "cheap and poor tasting." However, recently, things have been changing because the mass media has reported that "the autumn-winter bancha is effective in lowering one's blood-sugar level."
We have been receiving many inquiries about the autumn-winter bancha since last year, and its sales have decupled. News that the autumn-winter bancha is effective in lowering one's blood-sugar level was announced over ten years ago.
This became clear through a blood-sugar level decrease examination conducted by Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University (TMPU) commissioned by the National Research Institute of Vegetables, Ornamental Plants and Tea.
TMPU tested rats with high blood-sugar level to find out which tea was effective in lowering their blood-sugar level. TMPU used five kinds of tea, gyokuro (refined green tea), sencha (natural-leaf tea), bancha (coarse green tea), matcha (green powdered tea), and black tea extracted with cold, lukewarm, and hot water, and gave each of them to the rats. All of the teas were effective in lowering the blood-sugar level. In particular, bancha extracted with cold water had the largest effect.
TMPU made it clear that a kind of polysaccharide contained in tea was one of the active ingredients in lowering the blood-sugar level. The bancha described here was autumn-winter bancha.
How to drink autumn-winter bancha effectively in lowering blood-sugar level. It is important to remember the lab test results: "Autumn-winter bancha extracted with cold water had the largest effect in lowering blood-sugar level." As for the actual method of drinking it, put 34fl_oz of water and 0.7-1oz(20-30g) of autumn-winter bancha into a kettle or water jug, extract the tea throughout the night in a refrigerator, filter it through a net, and drink it within a day. This is an effective way to make tea. Because polysaccharides, an active ingredient, have low heat-tolerance, the tea should be extracted with cold or lukewarm water. Autumn-winter bancha made this way has less of the smell distinctive to bancha and tastes excellent. (It tastes much better than tea in a plastic bottle.) It is not only an effective way of making autumn-winter bancha, but also a good way of drinking tasty tea.
Customers' comments about "autumn-winter bancha".It has been about one year since I began to drink this tea. I heard that bancha is good for my health. I was looking for the least expensive one (sorry to say so), but it tastes much better than I expected. What a surprise! (smile) I continue to drink two liters every day, and I believe I will continue drinking it.
